This immersive multimedia event was a collaboration between University of Toronto architecture and film studies students. The challenge was to design and produce a complete interactive environment within an empty and undefined space that would be used to accommodate a live DJ dance party. Working with a large team, the solution involved the creation of various “zones” within the space.

Leaving the floor as free as possible and not constraining traffic, each zone was defined primarily through the use of the ceiling plane. Projection surfaces were provided for looped video and slide images, as well as to reflect changing coloured light. Interactive aspects included live video footage mixed with pre-recorded material (sometimes exchanging live action between zones), motion-triggered imagery, and projected mobile text messaging.
